32 [00:50:46] <Gigglebyte> Does Debian have an equivalent in the
repository for the program called tiffcp? This is a program that
combines all tiff images into one images. I am trying to edit a pdf
in Gimp, and need to remove some smudges after the initials on each
page. I am following instructions from

43 [00:53:46] <Gigglebyte> I looked online, and it looks like
there is something in the testing repo, but not sure this will work
with stable.
44 [00:54:36] <Gigglebyte> abrotman> So theoretically I could
convert all of the gimp files (.xcf) to sepate images, stitch them
together, and then convert it into one pdf?
45 [00:54:46] <alex11> hugins are banned during covid-19
46 [00:55:09] <abrotman> I've only used hugin with jpg
files, but I've made it into a huge panorama with maybe 20
images
47 [00:55:24] <abrotman> (several times)
48 [00:55:38] <abrotman> it really does an amazing job of
putting images together
49 [00:55:42] <abrotman> IMO
50 [00:55:43] <Gigglebyte> abrotman> One of the major short
comings of Gimp is not being able to edit individual pages of a pdf
without separating them into separate pages. This creates a lot of
unnecessary work and complexity to what is otherwise a simple
problem.
51 [00:55:57] <abrotman> oh .. edit a pdf?
52 [00:56:02] <abrotman> dpkg: pdf edit
53 [00:56:02] <dpkg> Editing PDFs isn't that easy as they
were more-or-less designed to be a read-only document format. The
<pdftk> package allows you to split and merge PDFs, as does
the "pdfsam" package. LibreOffice Draw is also able to
import PDFs as text/drawing objects which can allow some
editing/commenting to be done. Also ask me about <fill pdf
forms>, <pdf>.

58 [00:57:26] <Gigglebyte> abrotman> The pdf has to first be
saved as an .xcf in Gimp. That is how Gimp handles it, and then i
can make the edits to the .xcf file, but to save the pages they have
to be separated, recombined as a graphic or a tiff.

62 [00:58:40] <abrotman> again, it depends what type of PDF it
is, and what you're trying to edit
63 [00:59:00] <Gigglebyte> There are other tools for editing
pdfs, such as pdfescape, but those tools are crude, and don't
let you do the fine line editing that can be done in Gimp or
Photoshop. However, it would be a lot simpler and far less complex
if the authors of pdfescape.com added fine line editing as a new
feature. Currently you can white out areas, but limited.

packaged.

1613 [23:23:23] <jmcnaught> My /boot used to be small, but I

partition) then enlarged /boot's partition.
1614 [23:23:24] <sney> 'apt autoremove' may remove an
older kernel that you aren't using, otherwise you might need to
make some room manually

or not

about mails that _are_ kept, so probably an mua issue, as greycat
