659 [06:55:33] <cinch> dnf is super slow on a raspberry pi :p
660 [06:55:36] <rwp> Speed? Apt is at least 10x faster than yum.

666 [06:56:45] <cinch> portage is slow too
667 [06:56:54] <jordanm> I would want to see benchmarks on that.
dnf sometimes seems slower because it doesn't have a need for a
separate `apt-get update` task, it's integrated into
install/update
668 [06:57:14] <jordanm> Hooloovo0: I wouldn't compare
portage, which is a source-based package manager to a binary package

machine. so quite a bit slower

downgraded the package and now wine32 properly installs!
673 [06:58:03] <rwp> Even yum -C is very slow though.
674 [06:58:10] <jordanm> then you found you missed some USE flag
you needed and have to do it all again :)
675 [06:58:42] <jordanm> rwp: I'm not convinced
676 [06:58:58] <rwp> mmoreno80, I think I would comment out all
of the sources.list entries. Then uncomment the *one* you wish to
use. Then apt-get update, then apt-get install from there.

957 [10:45:24] <diogenes_> rozie, hardware will have secure boot.
The problem is, that this hardware won't boot an OS that is not
signed. The hardware is checking the software at startup to see if
it is signed. If it isn't, the hardware will prevent the
software from booting.
958 [10:45:57] <diogenes_> so with unsigned you need to disable
secure boot

1526 [17:41:18] <algun|home> Hi. I noticed Debian has no Swift, no
TypeScript, no Kotlin. This doesn't bode well for the distro.
It was never geared towards desktop, but at least it had dev
packages. What's going on? And suffer me preemptively
addressing the free software guilt game - I never packaged for
Debian before when it had dev stuff.

I can disable it?

2250 [23:40:05] <Abdullah> btw you have a good nick, I had one
when I was a phone user and no internet access was available here.
Same meaning I had with that nick but in my language ;-)
2251 [23:40:33] <Tom-_> facebook, instagram etc all exist in part
because we don't have globally addressable IP addresses
anymore... it's undemocratic not to use ipv6

rebooting.

NetworkManager, you can set method to "Ignore" on the IPv6
tab.

2271 [23:46:02] <friendofafriend> Abdullah: You can also disable
IPv6 as a boot argument in grub, but that's a little messy.

people would communicate by IP to each other and use what we did in
the 90s?
2274 [23:47:29] <Abdullah> I had arch linux and there I can do
that by appending noarp to /etc/dhcpcd.conf which I don't have
in debian
