out. I setup 3 VLANs on my Mikrotik router/switch and everything
seems to work perfectly in Windows. I then reboot into Debian and
while I can ping sights (for example google.com) browsing those

no Egress deffinition on the port some packets do

2077 [22:17:15] <greycat> POSIX is a set of standards that all
unix-like systems are supposed to adhere to (and can exceed, of
course). Several years ago, there was some buzz about distro-forks
which aimed at being officially certified as 100% POSIX compliant.
Nobody ever cared.
2078 [22:17:19] <algun|home> greycat: no, it's just that you

2086 [22:20:32] <greycat> No real-world program can survive on
*just* the posix feature set, so in reality, having an OS certified
as posix-compliant just doesn't matter. To be sure your app
will run on everything, you still have to add a shitload of
#ifdef's or whatever.
2087 [22:20:51] <algun|home> Why do you think so?
2088 [22:21:10] <greycat> Look at the apps people actually care
about. Like docker.
2089 [22:21:20] <greycat> Like web browsers.
2090 [22:21:40] <algun|home> I don't care about docker
2091 [22:25:09] <greycat> Another example: nginx, and probably
other web servers, uses the sendfile(2) system call to efficiently
transfer static files over the socket to the web client. That's
not posix (says so right in the man page).
