different then 2.2 even htaccess was changed - not much differences
out there but still it can give you hammer to your head aka 500s or
404s
127 [01:09:37] <unborn> hatter_: before upgrade can you clone
your server to kvm or sort of virtual machines and test it or try it
there? you know.. if it still works you can have safe way to play
around, see and feel the changes around. apache was one of them but
also other things did changed.. you know..

136 [01:19:08] <unborn> hatter_: I would clone that server to kvm
fire it up and working from there.. it will leave you online still
and give you space to trouble shoot. if your server is not very big
I would make backup and do fresh install with fresh configs and then
just upload content back with all dbs, in case you manage bind by
your self not much was changed.. but man from 7 to 9 or 10 its a bit
big step.. anyways most of the changes apt will ask you to keep
existing
137 [01:19:09] <unborn> configs or replace, so make decisions
widely.. fail2ban also changed a bit (if you using it) but keeping
existing configs would work just fine, no need to edit it.

1131 [14:22:02] <Ede|Popede> Bushmaster: look into the existing
config. understand how it works and get an impression on the modules
it comes with and at some of the basic directives used in the
default config. and then you can start to play. i think i
didn't even bother with apache.conf, but had my stuff in
apache.conf.d.
