126 [01:52:36] <incal> hello, can I repartition the filesystem
somehow after the install of Debian to make room for a second Linux
distro or Debian instance? I didn't think of this when I
installed the Debian I'm on now and I don't want to loose
all the files and configurations I already did. but I do have a lot
of disk space so I'd be happy to give some from the first
instance so to speak

with installation media and choose the set-up partitions for
install?

129 [01:55:17] <sney> you shouldn't resize a partition that
your OS is currently running from. but there are livecds that make
the process pretty easy.

142 [01:58:43] <sney> yes, it's essentially linear. and
filesystem utilities know how to shrink a volume without deleting
anything you put on it, as long as there's enough space
overall.
143 [01:58:59] <incal> great, but you don't do this from the

but came installed with windows 8 and only has a 32gb mmcblk
internal storage that is soldered onto mother board. so i basically
have been running ubuntu budgie on it but came to the conclusion
that maybe i can go lighter and came across some wise linux geniuses
who decided to make smaller linux based off things like
699 [10:43:49] <ghostnik11> debian. and then i found antix and
installed it onto an micro sd card

the problem of not having sound work even though i put the sound
card files into ucm and edited everything i needed to edit but it
seems like their was a problem between alsa and pulseaudio and then
i realized that i had comment out some lines in pulse.conf or one of
those files. once i removed that mistake now sound
